The benefits associated with incline training are vast. According to a study conducted by FreeMotion Fitness there are three primary benefits associated with incline training:

  • Increased heart rate and cardiovascular demand without increasing speed to high levels enabling exercisers to increase cardiovascular fitness without increasing risk of treadmill injury.
  • Increased muscular demands of walking and running enabling a muscular fitness workout during cardiovascular exercise.
  • Increased ability to burn fat through increased muscular activity at a slower speeds accelerating weight loss.

Fall Break Youth Basketball Camp with Eathan O’Bryant

Bring the kids for some skills, drills, and fun with former UNR great and Harlem Globetrotter, Eathan O’Bryant!? SouthRAC’s upcoming Basketball Camp will be held October 6-9, 2014 from?8:30 to 11:30am.? There will be a maximum of only 40 spots available for this year’s camp.? It will accommodate children and youth between the ages of 5-16.? Cost per participant for members’ children will be $75 ($100 for non-members’ children). SouthRAC Water Station at the 2014 Leprechaun Run

While playing upbeat music, cheering on the runners/walkers and wearing crazy wigs, mustaches, and silly hats SouthRAC had a great time handing out water for another great Reno event on Sunday, March 16th. The Leprechaun Run is the start of many events SouthRAC volunteers for every year.

“Healthy for All” Zumba Party

zumbaJoin us for Junior League of Reno’s first annual ?Healthy for All? Zumba Party on Saturday, January 25, 2014, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at the South Reno Athletic Club.

This event will feature Reno?s leading Zumba instructors, music, a raffle, and healthy refreshments. Participants will move to the blend of upbeat world rhythms with easy to follow choreography. The Zumba global lifestyle fuses fitness, entertainment and culture into a dance fitness sensation.
